The Contact Manager is your starting point in
building your SendOutCards® business. It has
been said that the level of your success directly
correlates to the size of your rolodex, or in this
case the size of your Contact Manager—and
this rings true with just about any business. The
more people you have in your Contact Manager
that you are actively sending cards to, the more
success you’ll have.
The Importance of a Contact
As you build your list of contacts, you should also come to understand the importance of a contact. Kody Bateman, the Founder and CEO of SendOutCards®, has explained this very clearly:
"Each contact added represents another human
being; a person with feelings, thoughts, and desires;
a person with hopes, memories, and dreams. Their
most cherished day of the year is their birthday.
The most important people to them are their family
members. They deserve to be remembered."

The Contact Follow-Up Sheet & Memory Jogger
To begin, your best bet is to share SendOutCards® with people you already know and create what is called a Warm Market List. To help you start your contact list, use this tool called the Memory Jogger.

Use the Memory Jogger to fill the spaces of your Contact Follow-Up Sheet, a tool provided to help you record contact’s information and the progress they’ve made. Both of these tools can be found on the Web site as well.

A Few “Tried-and-True” Marketing Methods
In addition to sharing SendOutCards® with everyone you already know, you’ll want to begin meeting new people. A list of methods that many of the top distributors are already using has been compiled. In fact, if you visit the online Daily 8 training material, included are a few examples of cards you can send when using these marketing methods. You do not need to use all of the following methods. However, we suggest that you start using a few that work well for you:
Swap and Drop
This method is simple but very effective.
Just swap business cards wherever you go and with
everyone meet. Drop them a card once you enter their
information into the Contact Manager. This method has
proven to be a great way of introducing yourself to
others. If you’d like to see a few examples of Swap &
Drop cards, make sure to visit the Daily 8 online.
Lifestyle Networking
As you participate in various
activities, send cards with pictures to the various people
you meet. For example, if your kids are in sports, send cards
to the other parents with pictures of their children playing
together. If you are at a gathering of family, friends, or
business associates, capture the experience with pictures
and send cards to others who were there as well.
Reciprocal Marketing
Similar to the Swap & Drop, reciprocal marketing is very simple. Every time someone offers you information about something they are involved in, reciprocate the offer. For example, when you purchase a product or service from someone, send them a card and mention SendOutCards® to them. This is a great way to gather leads for Gift Account Walkthroughs.
Network Meetings
You are in a relationship business, and the more you get in front of people the better. By joining groups like BNI™, TEAM, your local Kiwanis, or Chamber of Commerce groups, you are getting in front of people and making contact. Using business cards and sharing your SendOutCards® Web address is always helpful in these groups. Using the Swap & Drop methods at these meetings is also a great idea. Take some notes on other speakers that are present so when you send them a card, you can personalize it to what they have said.
Event Marketing
Host or attend events that allow you to present SendOutCards® and meet new people. From in-home meetings and luncheons, to trade shows, fairs, and expos, there are a variety of ways you can host or participate in events.
Internet Marketing
The internet can be a great way to meet people that you would otherwise never come in contact with. As long as you give internet contacts the same quality coaching time as those you meet in person, this can be a useful method to build your organization. You will want to check SendOutCards® Policies & Procedures before using this method.
Niche Marketing
Targeting specific niches or groups of people is a great
method of finding people who are interested in SendOutCards®. Try sending
cards to realtors, scrap bookers, photographers, and other professionals and
hobbyists to see what they think. Be sure to follow up because none of these
people will tell you that SendOutCards® is a bad idea. They will love the
product you offer.
